Ok, I can now run for the most part, but if I try to program(especially open a screen) I get a "insufficient memory" error. My Quick Edit is disabled but adding the Exclusive mode fixed my users problems in using the mouse in a DOS window.ĭramatically improves performance when running DOS programs in a multitasking system Works like a charm on our 40 machines here. #Virtual dos machines running foxpro 2.6 32 bit
foxprox is the name of the 32 bit version of Foxpro DOS there is no way of running it at the reduced CPU priority in the existing window. This only seems to work if you start it in a new window. the /low parameter sets the CPU priority of Foxpro DOS to low, so it stops hogging the CPU. the "Foxpro - MyProgram" in quotes becomes the title of the Foxpro window. This is easily fixed (once you've turned off QuickEdit) Change the key value from 1 to 0 (which turns off QuickEdit for all DOS windows)įoxpro consumes too many CPU cycles. Run REGEDIT, search for all occurences of QuickEdit. QuickEdit interferes with the mouse operation. Here's a couple of fixes we use to run Foxpro DOS in Win2K and WinXP: How can I avoid 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem Close, Ignore message box when I run a couple of C utils. How do I work with the uuencode below? BhavbhutiNathwani These are stub utils for the FPD25 app I have. I don't want to close the DOS box, I just want to stop receiving the 16-Bit messagebox which W2K shows when I run my C utils. Thanks Frank, sorry but I guess I was ambiguious. When you start the programm it will close the DOS session immediately. Start debug and enter the following commands. It's only 2 bytes long and you can create it with debug. You can use an little programm in the DOS session to do this job for you. Thanks for a fine utilityįrom: Frank Dietrich ( How can I avoid 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem Close

Other way - you can create some DOS variable after load foxfree and then you can test You can start and stop this from foxpro program simply by call fox procedure. Thanks a lot for the utility BhavbhutiNathwani Is there a command line swtich that will check for it's existance before re-loading itself? I have put it directly into my FPD exe, but it has an upper limit of calls to FoxFree.
